It's All Over
I really liked this season of survivor. I couldn't wait for Fridays because of it, and I was always tempted to watch it Thursday nights. And because we watched survivor, I plan on watching it in the Fall when it comes back on and for the seasons after that also. By watching this show I learned that it's not easy to be put on an isolated island with a group of people you don't really know. And it can really start to mess with your state of mind. I think that Survivor is worth watching in Psychology because a lot of the stuff that we learned about we related to the show and we wrote about it. So not only did it give us something to look forward to every friday, it gave us a chance to apply the things we learned in class to real life and how it effects people in real life. I thought that the reunion show was too short. I thought that Russell talked too much and there wasn't enough time to talk to everyone who should've talked. But over all I thought that it was a really good season and I'm sad that we don't have it to watch every friday anymore.

Finale!!!!
I thought that overall it was a good final tribal council. And I thought that it could've given Russell a chance to kind of redeem himself, but he didn't he try to do anything like that. He just stayed the same old mean Russell. But other than that I thought that it was good.
I thought that the questions were good, and most of them were stabs at Russell. Which he should've known that he wasn't going to win just by how the jury treated him.
I think that it's good that Sandra won the game. She really had to fight to be there especially when Russell wiped out her whole alliance. And thats when she proved that she is a survivor because she survived every tribal council without a solid alliance. But I also think that Parvati could've won too because she won so many challenges and she had to fight to be there also since everybody wanted her gone. But then again she had Russell the whole time and thats part of the reason why she lasted as long as she did. The jury didn't vote for Russell because he backstabbed so many people on the jury and no one really liked him, so thats why he didn't get any of the votes from the jury.
I really don't know if i would've voted for Parvati or Sandra. I probably would have to make a pros and cons list because they're both really good candidates for winning and they both had skills that the other one lacked. But in the end when I think about it I think that I would've voted for Parvati. I think she played the best overall game and she tried really hard in challenges since sometimes they were her only way of staying in the game.

Final Five
If I was on survivor, my loved one would be my sister Meghan. I think that the impact this has on the game is that they are more determined to do better because and win the game so you can get home to your loved one. I think that having their loved ones there helps them have more strength to finish the game.
I think that it doesn't really matter who Jerri picked because Russell forgave her anyway. But it could've made her alliance with him tighter. And I'm not sure who i would've chosen, probably the same people because I hate Russell.
I think that the final three will be Parvati, Russell and Jerri. And i think that Jerri will get the most votes from the jury because she doesn't really have anyone against her.

Only 6 are left!
I dont think that anyone is a hero or villian anymore. I think that everyone is doing whatever they can to save themselves. But, i do think that it is possible to win the game by being a hero. because at this point after seeing everything that has happened so far, i think that anything can happen.
I think that in the beginning of the game Russell and Parvati had a way better relationship than they have now. I think that by Russell getting Danielle voted off he messed up his relationship with Parvati and now shes definitely going to go against him and they will no longer be an alliance.
Moral Dilemma
I think that it is possible to form real friendships in this game, because i think that Danielle and Parvati have a pretty good friendship. And I think that if people do become real friends, it must be pretty hard to vote them off because you dont want to lose them as a friend and you probably want them to stay with you, but you have to do what's best for yourself.
I think that keeping promises is important because if you dont keep your promise you're betraying people, and then they'll want to vote you off. However, i think that at some point everyone breaks a promise. But you shouldn't make a promise if you dont count on keeping it.

Emotional Intelligence
I think that Parvati has a rather strong EQ. She has a strong self awareness, she knows how she feels. And she has a pretty strong mood management, she doesn't really care what other people think about her and she controls how she feels in different situations. I think she is strongest in self motivation. She always does her best at challenges and she thinks very highly of herself. For example, she is always calling herself "the queen" knowing that shes ahead of the game and that makes her even more motivated. And knowing that people don't like her also motivates her to do better in the game. She is strong in controlling her impulses, she does what she wants but only until she gets done what needs to be done. However, she doesn't have the strongest people skills. She doesn't get along with too many people, a lot of people dislike her.

Who would you be?
I think that if I was on survivor I would definitely be on the heroes tribe. I'm not really mean and I dont think that I would fit in too well with the villians, they're all too mean. And I think that I would play the game like Candace. I think that she's a genuine person and she knows what she's doing. And she doesn't really have any enemies.

Multiple Intelligence
I think that Russell's two strongest areas are Bodily/Kinesthetic and Interpersonal. He is strong and athletic and he is also very people smart. He always has good stratgies and he knows what other people are thinking. He is also a good leader. And although i hate russell, he is very intelligent and he definitely knows what he's doing. I think that these two areas are the areas you have to be strongest in while playing survivor because you have to be athletic and you have to be people smart. And Russell has both of these..... unfortunately.

Loyalty
Honestly, i do not like coach at all. i think that he tries to be friends with everyone but in the end, he only ends up hurting himself and other people. I think that you could tell the truth the whole game but you may not get very far. therefore, i think that it s necessary to tell lies some of the time.

Intelligence
I think that intelligence has a lot to do with playing the game. What Russell did during this episode proves that. Russell out-smarted Boston Rob. Both Russell and Boston Rob are extremely smart but Russell knew exactly what Boston Rob was planning on doing so he out smarted him. You have to be intelligent to be on survivor because you have to know what to do and when to do it. For example, the Heroes voted out Cirie because she was very smart and stratigic. People who are very intelligent in survivor are a big threat, and that's what Russell is.
Personally, i was very mad at what happened on this episode of survivor. I hate Russell. I can't wait till he gets voted off and Boston Rob wins.
russel. will. not. win.

Type A & B
I think that a type A survivor would be Russell. He is very driven and he is always ready to move onto the next thing. He is also extremely competitive, like when he went and looked for the immunity idol. And like when he hid the machete. He likes to get things done and he will do almost anything to accomplish his goals. I think Russell is crazy.
I think that a type B personality would be Tyson. He is very patient and you really don't see him moving around a lot. He is very relaxed and i've never really seen him be angry. Also, i have never really seen him get too competitive. He just seems like a really relaxed guy so far, he doesn't really do much.

true colors & chocolate
I think that you could say that most people of Survivor are oranges. But i think that James is one of the biggest oranges. He is very competitive and he goes hard in all of the challenges. He loves competition and he definitely tests the limits. He is also a big risk taker. For example, in the one challenge that the heroes won, James was up against Randy. He knocked Randy down in one push and then proceeded to throw the bag on top of Randy after he was already in the mud. That shows how competitive James is, and mean. I think that sometimes because he's so competitive he gets in arguments with other tribe members because he blames everyone else but himself when they lose.
I think that they all went so crazy over chocolate because they haven't really eaten anything that they're used to eating in about 2 weeks. And chocolate is just a big reward.
I don't like James. I thought that this was the dumbest decision the heroes could've made by voting off Tom. Part of it is because Tom was my favorite, and the other part is because James can't even walk...... how is he supposed to play in challenges. The only person i like on the heroes tribe now is Colby. I think that by voting Tom off the heroes are only hurting themselves because James isn't going to be able to do much with a hurt knee.

Defense Mechanisms
I think that when Coach cries about nobody liking him is definitely regression. I never thought that a guy, on the villains tribe, would be the first person to cry. And over not being liked............. like what. He's a villain. I didn't think he was really supposed to be liked. However, it was really nice of Boston Rob to tell Coach to get it together and act like a man. It was also nice of Tyson to try to comfort Coach. But then he just went and told everyone else that Coach was crying and thinking about leaving. Oh well. Anyway, i thought that this episode was the most exciting and suspenseful episode yet. I was so scared Tom was going to go home. But in the end I was really happy that Cirie was the one to go. I never really liked her and I would rather her go home other than Tom or Colby. And I also think that this week was a really close week, challenge wise. The heroes came so close to winning both times, but in the end they just couldn't pull it together. At this point, I have no idea who is going to win. But i can't wait for next week.

Tame that ID!
I think that the people that listen to their ID's the most are Parvati, Russel & J.T. Parvati flirts with every guy so she can gets what she wants. Russel flirts back with Parvati and makes many alliances that no body knows about. And J.T. makes alliances with Tom and James, then he goes against Tom. And i also think that J.T. is too sneaky. They could all be nicer, especially J.T. since he is on the Heroes. But with the Villains, it doesn't surprise me about how they are sneaky and manipulative.
I don't like James anymore...... at all. I think that he's mean and he says things that shouldn't be said. There was no reason for him to be so mean to Stephanie last week, and this week when he threw the bag at Randy and said something to him, e v i l. At first i liked James, but definitely not anymore.

Heroes vs. Villians
I think that when stereotypes affect your behavior you are more likely to live up to it. I think being labeled as a hero puts more pressure on most of the survivors to play the game honestly and to be good people. But then you have James, who is not living up to his hero name at all. But also, in the end i think that it's not going to matter if you're a hero or a villian. In the end each person is going to do what is best for them and not care about anyone else. So, i dont really think the heroes are going to keep their stereotype as a hero, i think that all of them will turn on eachother in order to stay in the game. But until they get to theat point in the game, they need to start working together and helping eachother out. However, i dont really think the villians are THAT mean, but i think that as the game goes on they will truely live up to their villian name. They are on that team for a reason. I think that maybe having the name as a villian might make them act more as a bad guy. But for either team, it might not be a stereotype at all, the team they are are maybe how they really are. At this point, i think they heroes are falling apart because they dont know how to listen to eachother. Some of the people want to do everthing their own way and they dont care what anyone else wants to do.

Second Impressions
After viewing the first episode of survivor, my opinion has kind of changed how I view Tom, but not really. I still think that he's a strong player. But my opinion has changed now that I've seen him in person. I imagined him to be stronger than he his, and I think that he's not as in good as shape as he was when he was first on Survivor so that might have an impact on his performance. Also, he's older than he was when he was first on the show too. However, i think that's the case for almost everyone, so I'm not really sure if this will hurt him or not. I think that we judge people so quickly because it's just what everyone does. Almost everyone judges someone when they first see them, you can't really help it. We judge people on their appearances right away. Like if someone looks more athletic or stronger than someone else than you're going to think that they're going to win. Or if someone isn't as fit as someone else than they're the weaker person. But even just in watching the first episode of survivor I realized that the stronger person doesn't always win. I think that you have to have a good mindset and good strategies and be able to do the challenges to be able to win. I loved the first episode of Survivor. I think that it's a good way to spend a Friday morning and I think that it definitely does have a lot to do with psychology. After spending so much time on an island away from everyone you know and not really being able to trust anyone but yourself, that has to have some kind of impact on how you think and how you play the game.

First Impressions
My survivor contestant is Tom. He is from New York, where he is a fire fighter and his department helped rescue people on September 11th. He is also very athletic. He held the pole volt record at his school for 20 years. At first I didn't think that he could win and I thought he looked kind of old. But then Mrs. Schaffer told me that he won his season, so now I think he has a good chance of doing well in the game or even winning. But there are other people in this season that won the season they were on, so I think that it will be a good and ineresting season to watch since all of the people seem like they are pretty good contestants.
